(GIS) — Through the arrangement of the Minister for External Affairs, Hon. Minister Sarah Flood-Beaubrun, Ambassador Douglas C.T. Shen of Taiwan made a donation on March 5 to help support the afflicted families of the Rose Hill fire.
Ambassador Shen said when he heard about the blaze, he was shocked and deeply saddened, himself being once the victim of such tragic accident.
He thought there had to be something Taiwan could do to help those families regain their footing, so he worked together with Minister Beaubrun to find a way to chip in to the relief efforts, as a token of Taiwan’s brotherhood with Saint Lucia.
Ambassador Shen also encouraged the afflicted families to turn sorrow into strength and rebuild their homes at the soonest.
