Four persons were seriously injured after the car in which they were traveling crashed into a house at Sarrot, Bexon around 3 p.m. today (July 5).
The driver of the Dahutsu Charide motor car (whose name is still unknown), and his three passengers, received injuries to their chest and shoulders due to the impact from the crash.
The occupant of the house, Alex Plummer, told St Lucia News Online (SNO) that he was sitting on his balcony when the incident occurred.
Plummer told SNO that the vehicle was heading out of Sarrot, but made a sudden swerve into another lane and ended up crashing into his house. Fortunately he was not injured.
The house foundation received minor damages, but there was clear evidence that the car caused the concrete to break. A water main located close to Plummer’s house was also damaged.
Eyewitnesses claimed the driver and other occupants of the vehicle were under the influence of alcohol. One eyewitness said the men all had full bottles of Bounty rum.
