Cyprian Simon – a retired male teacher who taught at the RC Boys Primary School – has been found dead.
Reports are that the Babonneau Police Station received a call at about 3:40 p.m. that the former teacher’s body was found at his home on Levern Spencer Drive in Cacao, Babonneau.
Residents say Simon, 57, was found in his yard wearing slippers. It is not clear whether he was clothed. They theorise that he collapsed Sunday night while preparing to or taking a bathe by a drum outside the house.
He was last seen by a cousin on Sunday. Reports are that he was wearing plaid shorts at the time. Those were found today on his kitchen floor.
His neighbor (Mona) was the one who discovered him lying outside his house near the kitchen door Tuesday afternoon. She immediately summoned help.
Simon’s sister – Mary Juliana Charles- who spoke to Saint Lucia News Online (SNO) at the scene, said her brother’s body had already begun to decompose. She said that foul play is not suspected at this time and that he could have died from natural causes.
Simon lived alone. Police are investigating.
