Three people sustained minor burns, when a fire broke out in an Augier house this morning.
Fire officials told St. Lucia News Online (SNO) that they responded the reported fire at about 6:40.a.m.
The crew was not successful in outing the blaze, but was able to save the three occupants, whose names and ages have not been disclosed.
However, SNO understands that two of the occupants are elders.
A resident who lives a short distance away from where the incident occurred told SNO, “I heard the loud blast from my home when like a tank exploded. I was wondering if it was a gunshot or some other disaster.”
The wooden structure was completely destroyed, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
