Below is a letter of condolence from Opposition Leader Dr. Gale Rigobert to His Excellency Ambassador James Chang, Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) In St. Lucia.
Your Excellency:
We are deeply saddened to learn of the crash of TransAsia Airways flight GE 235 on the 5th of February, 2015 in the Republic of China (Taiwan) that resulted in the loss of life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims and the survivors of this tragic accident, and we continue to pray that the passengers who are still missing will be found alive.
We know that this is a very difficult time for the families of all involved and for your esteemed country.
We, in the United Workers Party, and all the citizens of Saint Lucia extend our deepest condolences to your President, the Government and people of the Republic of China (Taiwan), especially those who suffered loss from this unfortunate incident.
Our thoughts are with you during this time of sadness.
