A young female pedestrian is lucky to be alive following a motor vehicle accident at Choc this morning, Feb. 9, 2018, according to officials.
Reports are that the victim, identified as Kayla Prospere, 12, had just gotten off a bus when she allegedly darted across the road into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
She was struck by a car and almost ran over by another, but the female driver’s quick reflexes stopped the vehicle just in the nick of time, according to reports reaching our newsroom.
Prospere suffered a possible broken leg and was transported by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in stable condition.
The accident occurred around 9 a.m.
The victim is reportedly a Corinth student but she was not wearing uniform at the time of the accident due to a sports meet by her school.
