Officials have reported that at least eight persons were injured in three separate accidents in Bexon and the city of Castries on Easter Sunday night, April 1, 2018. The accidents occurred within minutes of each other.
The majority of the casualties occurred in the last of the three reported accidents.
Reports are that around 11:53 p.m., six persons sustained minor injuries in an accident involving several vehicles on the Bexon Highway.
St. Lucia News Online (SNO) was able to obtain some information on four of the six patients. A 46-year-old male driver from Marc, Bexon sustained a broken right leg; a 39-year-old male driver of Gros islet, a 29-year-old female of Gros Islet, and a 22-year-old female of Gros Islet all sustained minor injurie and were transported by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in stable condition.
Around 11:45 p.m. , an unknown male pedestrian, believed to be in his 20’s, was injured in a motor vehicle accident on Jeremie Street, Castries and was transported by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in stable condition. Additional information on this accident was not immediately available.
Around 11:30 p.m., a 26-year-old female from Vieux Fort was injured in a motor vehicle accident on the Bexon Highway and was transported by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in stable condition. Additional information was not immediately available.
Officials said thankfully there were no fatalities.
